You don’t have to suffer for ever
You are not alone. As a society we are suffering in ever greater numbers from the destructive effects of excessive anxiety, but the good news is that you don’t have to keep suffering. By finding your way to this page, you’ve taken the first step to getting your anxiety under control and this will have a tremendously positive impact on the way you live your life. Hypnotherapy is very effective at reducing anxiety.
Can you imagine what your life would be like if you were calmer?
What is anxiety?
That feeling you get when you’re anxious; the racing heart, the shallow breathing, the sweaty palms, is actually a natural response in the brain and is designed to keep us alive by allowing us to deal with threats to our lives. It’s called the flight or fight response and it’s very handy if you run across a real threat to life such as a tiger, as it increases your alertness, your strength and your speed by flooding your body with stress chemicals like adrenaline and cortisol. However, there’s not many tigers knocking around Aberdeen! The part of your brain that activates this response doesn’t know that, and it responds to our worries by treating them as real threats – so you effectively treat the arrival of that bank statement in the same way as you would treat the arrival of a tiger. This all happens subconsciously and that’s where hypnotherapy comes in, by reducing the tendency to react to events with anxiety and getting the real you back and in control.
What are the symptoms of anxiety?
Excessive anxiety in life can result in many unwanted conditions such as:
- Insomnia
- Overeating
- Nervous habits such as nail biting
- Inability to think clearly
- Panic attacks
- Headaches
- Overuse of alcohol, drugs or cigarettes
- Irritability and anger management issues
- Loss of libido and other sexual dysfunctions
This is not an exclusive list, and it might be that anxiety is impacting your life in some other way.
